Full description

There is an incredible amount of history and culture to discover in Linz, so let your Private Guide lead you on an ultimate adventure. You will see the best Old Town highlights and join a relaxing cruise along the Danube River to discover Linz’s culture, industry and nature.

You will meet with your Private Guide at the main square and stroll up the narrow Hofgasse street with lovely pastel buildings towards the Lizn Castle. Pass through the castle’s inner courtyard to get to the Castle Park for a nice view of Linz and Pöstlingberg across the river. Then you will walk to the Landhous, a magnificent 16th-century Renaissance building with a lovely courtyard.  Enjoy its stylish architecture and interesting commentary from the Local Guide. Further down you will reach Austria’s largest church, the monolithic neo gothic New Cathedral, also known as Mariendom.

You will also get to see the Baroque highlight of Linz’s Old Town – the Old Cathedral, that marks the city’s skyline with its two towers topped with onion domes. At the iconic main square, Hauptplatz, you will see the Neptune Fountain, Old Town Hall, the Feichtinger House with its carillon and other historic buildings. You will also spot the white marble Holy Trinity Column, which was erected in the 18th-century as a monument of gratitude for protecting the city from the last great wave of plague in Central Europe.

Finally, you will get on board the MS Linzerin ship to go on a 100 minutes long cruise along the Danube River. You can choose between a guided and non-guided cruise. During the guided option,  your guide will point out the most important buildings along the way, such as the futuristic glass buildings of the Ars Electronica Center, the Lentos Art Museum and the famous copper concert hall “Brucknerhaus.” You will also discover the fantastic views of wide nature reserves and the harbour quarter.

During the non-guided cruise option, the guide will take you to the ship’s departure point. You will have the best time admiring the amazing views with your family or friends. You can grab a drink or choose a meal from a special menu on board.
