Full description

Barcelona is home to some of the most unique and intriguing architecture and art. On this exclusive tour, you will explore the vibrant Old Town streets on a quest for the best examples of Catalan Modernisme. Discover Antoni Gaudi’s surrealistic designs and learn about the Catalan art and culture.

During our 2-hour walking tour you will explore the charming Eixample district. Walk along the historic Passeig de Gràcia street, which features some of the best Catalan architecture, such as Casa Amatller, Casa Mulleras, and Cases Pascual i Pons. Among them, is Antoni Gaudi’s Casa Batlló, with fantastical, curving dragon rooftop, and Catalan art nouveau period Casa Milà with query-like facade.

Other iconic buildings along the way will be Casa Comalat, an art nouveau apartment building by Salvador Valeri i Pupurull and influenced by Gaudi, and the 1906 modernist palace by Josep Puig, Palau del Baró de Quadras, featuring ornate Gothic and Arabesque-inspired details. You will also see the iconic clocktower on the lively square Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia. The last stop of this exciting tour will be another Gaudi’s masterpiece, the 19th century Casa Vicens Gaudi, which features Moorish influences and a protruding corner tower.

Book an extended 4-hour tour to enhance your experience with a visit to La Sagrada Familia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Gaudi’s most famous project. Construction of the basilica began in 1880s and is still ongoing, partly due to the delays caused by the Spanish Civil War, however visitors are still amazed by its grand scale and its outstanding Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau form. You will have skip-the-line tickets to beat the crowds, so just walk in and marvel at the richness and intricacy of the stained glass panels and decorations inspired by nature. See Barcelona’s top-ranked attraction with an Expert Guide who will explain its architecture and art to you!
